AM = Black Belt

My time at AM is drawing to a close and I'll be done with the program in a few weeks. It's been one helluva ride and I'd do it all again if I could! Though there's something I wanted to share (with the 1 or 2 people that read this thing, lol) that's been swimming around my mind lately. Keep in mind this is all my opinion though k? ;)

Graduating from AM is a lot like getting a black belt, but not in the sense of gaining complete mastery over the art form though. I remember a few years back when I was taking martial arts classes that we were asked what a black belt meant and the correct answer (depending on your discipline) was that you were ready to learn. The basics have been taught to you and you are now truly ready to learn. I feel the same way about graduating from AM. We were taught many, many things about the art of animation starting from the very foundations to acting and even to producing our own short films (with huge amounts of golden nuggets along the way). I now have this deep hunger to learn more about animation and I don't think it's the kind of hunger that is so easily satiated. I feel I am now ready to learn.

I guess in short, I just wanted to say that I plan on keeping this blog open during my journey through animation and sharing my progress. ;)
